Today she woke up about 6 AM. We took her off her mask about 6:45. She has been breathing on her own and on room air since then. (it is now 10:45 AM). She is doing great. Sats are between 93 and 95.
They did an x-ray this morning and it looks even better. Still a slight effusion (fluid outside the lung) on the left.
Lungs sound great. We are doing very little suctioning, really only to trigger a cough. She does not have very many secretions.
Isn't medicine and medical technology and doctors and nurses wonderful. She was so sick 2 weeks ago and she is doing sooooo well!.
If she breathes all day today on her own and then on her home bi-pap tonight. She can go home tomorrow!!! Yippee!!!
We are going to get up in the wheelchair for 45 min-an hour several times today. They even said we could go to the rooftop patio (on the 3rd floor). That will be fun.

Yea! Great news! The patio sounds nice-some fresh air after being cooped up for so long.
