Bad news...
They have had to add oxygen back in. She was down to 25% yesterday (room air is 21%). So she was just being given a tiny bit. She is back up to 50%.
She is not ready to come off the ventilator (so it's good we didn't extubate last night.). They are not going to do another spontaneous trial until tomorrow.
Good news...
She is having a lot of pink secretions. They are having to suction her a lot (through the breathing tube). This is good because it means the infection is clearing out. She hasn't had hardly any secretions the last few days until this morning. She's doing well, it just kind of seems like we're taking a step back in the direction we already came. But it's really good.
They are going to restart feeds later today. She is normally on continuous formula with a feeding pump through her g-tube. Since being in the hospital she has only gotten IV fluids and sugars (no formula/nothing in her stomach). It's usually a good sign/big step to restart feeds.
