Surgery Monday

During the night bloody fluid started leaking out of her subdural drain site out of her head.  She also had a slightly elevated temperature.  The nurse was pretty nervous/worried.  They called the resident and he said it was fine.  It is no longer leaking and her temp is fine this morning.

She slept good until about 1-ish...then after that it was hit and miss.

The right drain has stopped draining (this is the one they put in yesterday).

They did a repeat CT this morning and her right ventricle looks really good.  He said it is 90% drained and the ventricles are almost back where they were originally.

They are going to pull out the subdural drain this morning.

The neurosurgeon doesn't think we need to do another CT on Monday.  He is pleased with the results we have now.  So her new shunt will be placed on Monday.  It will be a new shunt (high pressure/anti-siphon) with all new tubing (under her skin).  No more drains!  Yea!
